2 Years at Filmiamo

February 13, 2026

I’ve worked at Filmiamo for two years now. As I think back on my time here, I can’t help but reflect on all the places I’ve traveled to and the people I’ve worked with along the way. In many ways, these past two years feel like they’ve flown by. But at the same time, I can clearly see how much growth has happened. I’ve grown in teamwork, in crafting stories, and in life as a new dad. All of those things have shaped who I am today, both creatively and personally.

Before joining Filmiamo, I was freelancing as a videographer. I’ve always loved what I do, but freelancing can be challenging when you don’t have a consistent team of creatives to work alongside. Over time, I started to desire more stability, a place to call home creatively and a team that I could grow with long-term. When I first met the team at Filmiamo, I immediately felt how welcoming the environment was. It was obvious how much they cared about their clients and the work they were producing. The relationships they foster weren’t transactional. They were real, thoughtful, and built on trust. That desire to truly serve clients and provide excellent work radiated from the team.

From the beginning Luke and Hannah stood out as kind, driven, and deeply invested in maintaining high standards for the creative work we produce. That hasn’t changed. They care about the details, about the people, and about doing things the right way. From day one, I knew this was the right team for me.

My role at Filmiamo is Senior Videographer, and at the core of what I do is crafting stories using visual tools. Lighting, camera angles, and lens choices all create different emotional responses for an audience. It’s my job to make sure that visual feeling aligns with the story each video is trying to tell. One of the most interesting things about video production is how it exposes us to so many different industries. Over the past two years, I’ve learned how different sectors can be surprisingly similar, yet vastly different at the same time. Each project becomes a puzzle- figuring out how to tell a story that fits a specific client, audience, and purpose. That challenge is something I genuinely enjoy.

During these two years, we’ve worked on projects of all sizes. From large-scale productions to smaller, more intimate shoots. Working with the same team consistently has been huge. We’ve learned how each other works, how to communicate efficiently, and how to anticipate what’s needed on set. Because of that, we’ve become faster and more effective without sacrificing quality. Efficiency and quality have grown together, which is something I’m really proud of.

One of my favorite projects has been filming for a water treatment company that runs water utilities for local communities all over the country. This project required extensive travel- including trips to Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Maryland, and more. The creative challenge was capturing each location’s unique geography and character while maintaining a consistent visual style and brand identity across all the footage. Along the way, I gained a deeper appreciation for how vital water infrastructure is. It’s something that’s easy to overlook in everyday life, but absolutely essential.

As the project continued, repetition helped our team get into a strong rhythm. Even though filming in one state could be vastly different from another, we stayed consistent, efficient, and creative. In the end, the company now has a library of footage from facilities across the country that they can use for years (maybe even decades) to come. Being part of something that long-lasting and impactful was incredibly rewarding. Like many other projects at Filmiamo, this experience reinforced an important lesson: flexibility and creativity go hand in hand. Creativity doesn’t disappear when constraints exist, it often thrives because of them.

The culture at Filmiamo is built on kindness, quality, and service. And that applies both outwardly to clients and inwardly to the team. We treat each other the same way we treat our clients: like family. We’re a tight-knit team, but each person brings different strengths to the table. Through collaboration- whether that’s on set, during edits, or through creative feedback- we’ve only grown stronger over time. That collaboration is a big reason why the work is so enjoyable.

Beyond the work itself, my personal growth has been just as significant. This past year I became a dad, which brings a whole new perspective on balancing work and family. What made that transition even more meaningful is that Luke and Hannah also became parents around the same time. Growing into parenthood together as a team has been an incredible journey. Filmiamo has been amazingly supportive, allowing us to continue honing our craft and providing high-level services while also honoring life outside of work.

Looking ahead, I’m excited and optimistic about what’s to come. Filmiamo is always evolving through improving services, adapting to new technologies, and finding better ways to support clients creatively. That growth mindset is something that truly excites me.

I’m incredibly grateful for the past two years and for the team I get to be a part of. It’s been an amazing journey so far, and I can’t wait to see what unfolds next.
